Deskrawl Class Guide: Warrior, Sorcerer, Monk, Hunter

Compare every Deskrawl class after patch 1.0.0h. This guide separates official balance changes from early community builds so you can choose a hero without treating a four-day-old tier list as permanent truth.

Deskrawl class overview after the first balance patch

There is no permanent “best class” in Deskrawl yet. The game launched on 28 September and the 1.0.0h patch landed on 1 October. Use a Deskrawl class guide to understand playstyle and build friction first; only use tier placement when its patch and difficulty are explicit.

Melee - forgiving

Warrior

Direct burst plus defensive tools make the Warrior the safest first recommendation in current cross-checked class coverage.

Start here if you want stable unattended clears and simple feedback when a build fails.
Ranged - elemental

Sorcerer

Elemental attacks and crowd control support safer spacing. Current Inferno guides strongly favor lightning and Storm Conduit.

Choose this when you want ranged control and are comfortable aligning skills, talents, and rune effects.
Melee - synergy-heavy

Monk

Dodge, attack speed, mana recovery, and crit scaling form a powerful engine, but the route depends on specific talent milestones.

Choose this when planning a precise progression tree sounds more fun than using the easiest opener.
Ranged - recently buffed

Hunter

Patch 1.0.0h raised damage across Steady Shot, Multishot, Rapid Fire, Arcane Arrowstorm, and several Hunter talents.

Choose this for ranged weapon play, but ignore rankings written before the 1 October balance pass.

Deskrawl Warrior: the stable first character

Current independent coverage places Warrior at the top for a new player because the class combines direct damage, burst potential, and defensive tools. That mix makes failure easier to diagnose: if a wave is dangerous, trade some offense for survival; if it is safe but slow, lean back into damage.

Community discussion already contains Whirlwind and bleed-oriented Warrior builds, but this Deskrawl class guide does not publish one immutable point-by-point tree. Patch 1.0.0g changed Whirlwind so it stops to collect materials, showing how even small automation details can change a farming setup.

Deskrawl Sorcerer: ranged control and elemental scaling

Sorcerer attacks from range and uses elemental damage plus crowd control. The strongest documented endgame direction we found is a community-tested Lightning Storm / Storm Conduit build: stun and Electrostatic stacks control packs while automatic Lightning Storm triggers carry area damage.

Confidence: community-tested, not official balance doctrine.
The guide is detailed and current, but it is still a launch-week build. Save lightning gear and rune pieces before committing all resources, and check the official notes after each update.

Deskrawl Monk: a planned dodge engine

Monk is less forgiving at low investment but has a clearly documented synergy chain. Current Steam guides combine Dodge Chance, attack speed, mana returned on dodge, flat physical damage after dodging, and late critical-damage conversion. The popular “Hundred Hands / Critical Dodge” route is built around keeping that engine running rather than chasing one isolated stat.

Patch 1.0.0h reworked Chain Force, raised Mirror Steps from 40% to 60% physical damage, extended its duration, and improved Piercing Lunge and Whirlwind Staff targeting. Any Deskrawl Monk guide that quotes the older values is outdated.

Deskrawl Hunter: re-evaluate after 1.0.0h

Hunter is the easiest class to underrate using launch-day material. The first large patch increased Steady Shot from 170% to 250% weapon damage, Multishot from 140% to 200%, Rapid Fire from 25% to 35% per hit, and Arcane Arrowstorm from 90% to 160% per hit, alongside talent buffs and projectile fixes.

That does not prove Hunter is now the strongest Deskrawl class. It does prove that pre-patch damage comparisons should be discarded. Judge the class through current clear speed, ability feel, and the gear you actually own.

A good Deskrawl class choice keeps you interested long enough to learn the whole build loop. After selecting a Deskrawl class, keep alternate gear until the first major balance cadence becomes clear.

Source and confidence note

The four-class roster is official. Warrior and Sorcerer positioning is cross-checked against Destructoid and current Steam guides. Monk and Sorcerer build names come from active Steam guides by IcedTouch. Hunter and Monk balance changes are official patch 1.0.0h facts.
