Deskrawl Idle Farming: Make Every Unattended Run Count

The highest unlocked map is not automatically the best farm. A useful idle route survives, kills fast enough, moves loot reliably, and finishes the planned session without a full cart or broken inventory handoff.

Score a route on four outputs

SurvivalDeaths, emergency manual input, and whether elites or the boss break the run.
Clear speedKills or waves per minute across a realistic sample, not one lucky burst.
Loot flowHow often the carriage fills, town trips occur, or inventory handling stops progress.
Session fitWhether the route stays productive for the exact 15-minute, one-hour, or overnight window.

Build a repeatable farming baseline

  1. Choose the highest node that clears safely for at least several cycles.
  2. Fix the character, skills, difficulty, minion, and loot rules.
  3. Run a timed sample and record deaths, waves, useful drops, and interruptions.
  4. Change one variable—map, minion, affix group, or session length.
  5. Keep the change only when the complete run improves.

Diagnose a full carriage before blaming the build

Players report cases where a full carriage does not move items into the character inventory even with an auto-fill life-skill node. First check whether the target inventory has space, whether the node is actually active, and whether the current patch changed the behavior.

Do not leave a valuable test running unattended until you have watched one complete fill-and-transfer cycle. If it fails, shorten the route, return to town, preserve screenshots, and use the safe troubleshooting report instead of deleting local data.

Let loot rules protect the session

  • Keep upgrades for the active damage type and survival plan.
  • Preserve rare runes, gems, reins, and build-enabling Legendary effects.
  • Store one coherent alternate setup instead of every marginal sidegrade.
  • Remove low-value clutter before a long run so capacity reflects real drops.
  • Recheck the filter after a patch that changes slot odds or item behavior.

Advance only when the farm remains boring

A stable Deskrawl farm should look uneventful. When the current node survives without intervention and the cart lasts the planned session, test one higher node. If deaths, resource stalls, or travel time erase the reward increase, return to the baseline.

This method also answers “why is leveling slow?” more accurately than pushing blindly: experience per kill can rise while experience per hour falls because the build spends too long on each enemy.

Source and confidence note

Automatic combat, loot farming, captured minions, and the carriage are official features. The audit responds to repeated reports about auto-fill inventory, full carriages, and progression stalls; it does not claim those reports are all the same bug.
